Care in Transportation of Your Tank Empty Care in Transportation of Your Tank

While it may seem like an obvious point, it's worth noting the importance of taking great care of your tank during transportation to and from the location of the install.

Your tank may appear to be a virtually indestructible hunk of industrial machinery, and is indeed quite strong and durable. However, there are a few sensitive points on your tank. The "Cold Inlet" and "Hot Outlet" brass fittings are fragile, and should not be jostled or bumped. It's easy to damage these fittings during transportation - - be mindful when passing through doorways or narrow passageways. Knocking one of these brass fittings out will ruin your tank. The fitting will break away from the giant copper coil within the tank, and this will cause the tank to leak.

If you've already busted one or both of your fittings from your tank, it's not the end of the world. While it is a tedious process of replacing the fittings, it is doable. You'll need to drain your tank (if it's already been filled), and disassemble your tank to remove and replace your fittings. More to follow on this process.
