Use PEX with caution
PEX is temperature rated at 180 degrees. Solar collectors can easily reach this temperature, and https://servimg.com/index.php?lang=enwell beyond. PEX will most certainly fail with high temperature exposure.
Use of PEX for the solar fluid RETURN line is never recommended. Flat plate or evacuated tube collectors both return temperatures well above 180 degrees.
Use of PEX for the collector loop can cause problems as well.

In the attached photo, PEX was connected close to the collector. Heat traveled back from the collector causing the PEX to fail.
There are many "rules of thumb" regarding use of PEX in the collector supply loop...10' back, 6' back, 5' back from the collector.
Please be mindful of the high temperatures, and keep PEX well away from a collector.
