Factory Settings For Controller Empty Factory Settings For Controller

Please refer to the Menu Structure and Menu Description section of the SHEM controller menu to aid in understanding and accessing the various functions in the controller. All settings can be varied, as described in the manual. "Load" is the function that restores factory functions to their original functions (you must hear the controller Beep 3 times to know the restore is valid).

Following are factory settings:

DTO 16F (Delta T On)
DTF 4F (Delta T Off)

For the "E" controller, the following military time and settings are provided for the element:

tH1O 4:00 150F (Time element comes on, if t2 temp not 150 F)
th1F 7:00 160F (Time element shuts off, or if t2 hits 160F)
tH2O 10:00 140F
tH2F 10:00 150F (By setting these to the same time, this function is not active)
tH3O 16:00 150F
tH3F 19:00 160F (Note military time, and no time overlaps)

The element functions above can be set for up to 23 hours and 59 minutes per day.

EM 266F (Deactive would be _ _ _) Emergency shut-off of collectors for stagnation temp.
It is important to note that there is a relationship between EM and maximum tank temperature.
Please see CMX, Collector Cooling Function for a description on how the tank and collectors work to combat stagnation.

CMX 231 F This function combats stagnation by allowing the pump to come on one more time after the tank reaches 170 F and the collectors approach stagnation (231F). The pump will come on one time and allow the tank to rise to 203F in order to keep the collectors from overheating. When the tank hits 203F, the system will shut down and the collectors will be allowed to stagnate. There is no damage to the collectors from stagnation, however, the system simply won't operate when stagnation could create steam flash.

CMN 50 F Collector Low Temperature Protection (Collector Minimum) is set such that the collector must be at least 50 F before the pump will activate.

CFR - - - Deactivated. The Collector Frost Protection is a glycol system feature that is deactivated at the factory. This setting, if active, would pump water into the collector when the collector temperature fell to a set point. DO NOT change this setting for drainback configuration.

SMX 170 F Maximum Tank Temperature is set to 170 F, except when stagnation is possible, when the maximum tank temperature can rise to 203 F.

REC OFF The Tank Recooling function reverses the direction of flows to remove heat from the tank. Do not activate this setting in a drainback configuration.
