Dirty Water in the Flow Meter/Site Glass?
Why does the water seem to get dirty in the Flow Meter / Site Glass, thereby making it difficult to read the level, and simply makes the water look unclean?
This is due to the fact that the pump circulating your originally clean and clear tap water is cast iron, and slowly rusting. These particulates get circulated in the water, making your flow meter difficult to read through the murky water.
The best solution for this, is to simply change your current cast iron pump to a bronze or non-cast iron based pump. Then replacing the current (dirty) water in the tank with new clean tap water to give you a clean, readable flow meter.
